"No one is like you, O Lord; you are great and your name is mighty in power. Among all the wise men of the nations and in all their kingdoms, there is no one like you." Jeremiah 10:6-7
What would it be like to live in a world where everyone knew and acknowledged God? What would it be like in a place where God's authority is realized and respected? Sadly, we live where the ?wise men? of the world believe they are ultimately in control and desire to push aside all understanding of God. Yet, what a difference we experience when we accept God's invitation to share a love relationship with Him. Our life takes on a whole different meaning!
In order to understand that there is "no one like God", we must know Him in a personal way. It seems that, in our society, we are becoming less and less dependent on God and are "learning" to live according to our own standards. This comes at the expense of hearing from God and allowing Him to guide us. What do we understand about God's sovereignty? We are living in a time when God's name may be acknowledged among men but there is really no power associated with Him. Is there much difference among Christians today? Do we really trust God in all things or is that just another thoughtless statement? In many ways, we have become like the church at Laodicea. The Laodicean church had plenty of wealth but no real relationship with God. They did not realize how wretched, pitiful, poor, blind and naked they had become. They were living according to their own standards and would suffer the consequences for it.
We must be careful to both acknowledge God and recognize His authority. As Christians, we are the ones to be sharing the news of Jesus and showing others how to live according to God's standards. We have enjoyed our comfortable lifestyle apart from God and are now paying the price. The line has now been drawn. We must recognize God's authority and live as though there is no one like Him, or we continue a downward spiral as we trust our own ways. Scripture reminds us vividly that as Christians we have been bought by the blood of Jesus. Let us always live that way as we recognize God's sovereignty and understand that "there is no one like God". We pray you are having a very blessed week as you live knowing there is no one like Him!
